Shalom in Cinnamon

"Peace signs" are not a new thing. We have seen them for a long time, represented frontwards, backwards, sideways, "deuces", by presidents, "duck lip" making girls, hippies, OGs, and everyone in between-- even shows up when throwing up the most haphazard "wave" from your yard to a passing car. But what does peace really mean?

This piece was created out of the need to be reminded fo not only "peace", (defined by "freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility"), but something deeper. I don't want just peace and quiet. I don't want to just not be in a text argument or trying to keep everything at bay in a tense situation in the line to pay my water bill. "Shalom" means to not only have this absence of strife but more than that--to be complete, full, whole...and then giving back. THIS is what I need to be reminded walking out the door of my home into the kinda crazy world we live in. I don't only need to be reminded of not fighting with my hubby or being snappy with customer service--I need to be reminded to give of myself to the world.

Personally, I find myself whole in Christ. This leads me to be able to give much because I have received much.

This is made by: going to store, somehow fitting the wood into my sedan, cutting it out with my jigsaw, sanding all the rough and splintery edges away, several coats of paint and satin polyurethane for protection. The back is fitted with two saw-tooth hangers on the widest parts of the hand so you can hang with ease. I include 2 nails with your piece. You can also prop this up in any place that would have something to brace it against. It comes shipped in cardboard protection.
